New Year, New Goals

Hello my lovelies!

Back at it again with my one blog every 2-3 months I suppose. I really do think that the reason I’m not blogging as much is because I don’t have a proper laptop. Most of the time I am blogging on my work computer like right now (Shh.. don’t tell anybody).

So it’s been about 2 and a half months since I’ve finally moved out from my parents and life is dandy! Of course, there is now lots of pressure on me to pay the bills and life is now all about bills, fees, taxes and more bills. But that does not and will never stop me from trying to improve upon a better version of myself.

That being said, what’s my new project this time you ask? Forget about my Belle Luxe Dropshipping store. That project has now been scrapped and I am trying to sell my website off to some potential buyers. I have only gotten one inquiry so far which is very surprising since my listing is very expensive (I am probably going to drop the price soon I just went with Shopify’s recommended price). But hopefully I am able to sell my store soon and get it off my hands.

Amazon

My new project is now Amazon and I am now partnering up with one of my best friends. I previously mentioned in my last post that I was supposed to partner up with one of my bf’s close friends however, plans quickly changed and we got too preoccupied with other things. His mind kind of wandered somewhere else and his focus is a little all over the place at the moment so I decided to partner up with another person. Anywho, we are now in the researching phase and trying to figure out which products have the most potential for success. Mind you, this is the most difficult phase of this whole thing and is supposed to take up the most time so we are really trying to brainstorm and write up a list of as many products as we can think of. My bf is also interested in starting an Amazon project with me separate from the one I’m currently working on. I admit it will be quite difficult working on trying to find two products for two different projects but I advised him that he should spend most of the time looking for the products and I would jump in from time to time to help out. I had to do it also as a way to keep him busy since he is currently unemployed and spending all his days at home doing practically nothing productive.

Lifestyle

In terms of lifestyle, I’ve been making drastic changes to my eating habits. Since I now have full control over my meals and have seriously been able to cut down on my sodium intake. I’ve also been slowly incorporating more fruits and veggies, getting my protein as well as replaced my white rice with quinoa. I still eat white rice from time to time but I’ve cut down a good portion of it. My goal is to be able to lose at least 1 inch off of my waistline in one month and pack on some gains before our Jamaica trip at the end of July. This entails getting those HIIT workouts as a part of my weekly routine (just started and absolutely hate them) because I realized that as much as I despise HIIT and cardio, I can’t completely avoid it altogether if I want to cut down on my belly fat. I also read up that HIIT workouts are the most ideal for belly fat loss and for skinny fat people such as myself.

Time management has also been on my list on things to improve on. Especially now that I live on my own, trying to find the time to cook and clean while also working on my passion projects have been quite the challenge these days. Though starting the past week, I began to change my sleeping habits  and have been trying to sleep early and wake up early just so I can have time to be productive in the mornings as well as after work. Gradual change always sticks better rather than drastic changes. As a result, throughout the course of the week I have been waking up 10 min earlier every day. This morning I woke up at 6:45 am! My goal is to be able to sleep at 10 pm every night and wake up at 5:00 am every morning. Not quite there yet but slowly and surely.

Blogging

Blogging and journaling helps with deep thinking. Hence, why one of my goals is to blog more but not just that, I want to be able to learn how to get to the point. I beat around the bushes and provide too many details on my posts and I think because of that I often lose the motivation for blogging.

Focus on learning and creating rather than entertainment and distraction. That’s one thing I have to constantly remind myself on a daily basis. Often times, I find myself on Youtube or watching my shows on Netflix rather than working on my passion projects. Because of that reason, I run out of time and feel unproductive. One of my goals is to learn a new skill every month whether it be through Udemy or any other online courses like Skillshare. I also want to  read more and be able to finish one book a month.

So those are my goals for this year. I really want to become the best that I can be and have to constantly remind myself to never give up learning. You learn a lot in school and how to follow the rules but you don’t learn to be successful in life just by doing that. You won’t feel any self-fulfillment in your work by working a 9 to 5 job. That’s exactly how I feel at this very moment. Hence, why I am focusing my attention on myself where it’s most important. Never neglect yourself. Love yourself enough to constantly nourish both your mind and body.

Afterall, reading is exercise to the brain as exercise is to the body.

Never stop learning.
